We have an exciting opportunity for Line Leaders to join our Packing team at Agrial Fresh Produce in Wigan, WN5 0LB.

Working hours: Any 4 out of 7 days

Pay: £13.58 per hour

Main Responsibilities 

  • Set up and check equipment, carrying out equipment safety and pre-start up checks in accordance with procedure.
  • Co-ordinate the allocation of tasks and monitor the team assigned to assembly line to maintain efficiency, targets and high standards.
  • Monitor, assess and record production performance data to ensure operating to optimum efficiency.  Identify and implement corrective actions.  Report on performance escalating any issues to management and reporting back to the team.
  • Check that all CCP checks, Process Control and all other production paperwork has been completed accurately, in accordance with procedure and within specified time frames, countersigning to verify correct.
  • Operate and monitor production machinery, ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times.  Report faults, breakdowns or issues immediately using the Company’s Engineering reporting system.
  • Ensure efficient use of materials and packaging.  Identify potential improvement opportunities and assist with the implementation of such improvements with guidance from management.
  • Co-ordinate and maintain production end of run/changeovers by removing waste, cleaning equipment and floor in accordance with walk away standards and procedures.  Maintain a clean and safe (clean as you go) area of work at all times.
  • Assist with the training and monitoring of new and existing employee’s in adherence to the Company’s training procedures.

Skills and Experience Required 

  • To have basic written and spoken understanding of English.
  • Ability to understand and undertake Food Safety Qualification.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and hours with the ability to undertake duties in any of the production areas on site.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to Health and Safety requirements.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to positively influence others.
  • Demonstrate tasks and accountabilities competently at all times, including visits and audits by external parties.
  • Effectively comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.

Our Wigan site is a well-established business unit that processes and distributes pre-packed, ready to eat, fresh salad bags and bowls to some of the UK's well-known retailers and restaurants. We are based on Martland Park Industrial Estate, which is ideal for travel on the M61, M6 and M62. The business has other operations in the UK, known commonly with our recognisable Florette salad brand and we are one of the UK’s leading producers in the industry. In total, we sell on average around 600,000kg of products every week - an unbe-leaf-able amount!
